My Story
Dr. Claudia Ghisa is an orthopedic surgeon based in California with advanced fellowship training in sports medicine. She specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries, with particular expertise in conditions of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.

Dr. Ghisa earned her undergraduate degree from New York University, where she also competed as a cross-country and track athlete. She went on to receive her medical degree from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, and pursued fellowship training in sports medicine at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI).

Her active lifestyle and background as a competitive runner informs her patient-centered approach, as she understands firsthand the demands of athletics and the importance of returning to peak performance. Dr. Ghisa is committed to evidence-based, compassionate care that helps athletes and active individuals of all ages recover function and achieve long-term wellness.
My Philosophy
My philosophy of care is centered on combining evidence-based medicine with a personalized approach. I believe every patient’s story is unique — from professional athletes striving to return to peak performance, to active individuals who simply want to enjoy daily life without pain. My goal is to listen carefully, understand each patient’s needs and goals, and then work together to create a clear treatment plan.

I place a strong emphasis on education and communication. I want my patients to leave each visit not only with answers but with confidence — knowing they fully understand their diagnosis, the options available, and what to expect during recovery. By fostering collaboration and trust, I help patients make informed decisions that align with both their medical needs and lifestyle.

Ultimately, my role is to provide the highest quality orthopedic care while supporting my patients every step of the way — from the first consultation through rehabilitation and return to activity.
